View Full Version : Droid X root failure

Hey guys,
I am new, i'm sure you've heard this before. I ,however, have not found much information on this on the site.
So I acquired my DX from a friend it has previously been rooted and is on system version 4.5.573.MB810 Android version 2.3.3. I know hardly anything about the rooting process and such. So I apparently have no root access this point says titanium backup and Droid X bootstrapper and the phone is freezing frequently and will not boot up unless the battery is pulled and reinstalled. I tried using the D3 root program from Pete's Motorola Root Tools (http://psouza4.com/Bionic/) both on the windows 7 and xp versions. It gives errors on the third portion which i believe is because superuse and busybox have been installed on there. It says that sometimes multiple reboots are required and I have rebooted the phone nearly 20 times to no avail. I want the switch to a different rom to hopefully resolve my freezing issues as well as toy around with it. I know to many of you software junkies/gurus I am a noob, but I would greatly appreciate any help with acquiring root access. Thanks for any help provided.

Your on build 573... You can use ginger break to root... That is an older leak... So use ginger break then you'll have root and can back up to switch to whatever

We have nothing to fear but running out of beer

Cobra I didn't think there was a .605 sbf,

Here is a link to sbf to .602, then you can take the OTA to .605 http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html and use the root option you have already found
gingerbreak that Nemo.a suggested only works on your old build for clarification

root, roms and themes oh my!

I was rooted with fryo, and updated OTA to .605 few weeks ago. Is there no way to root .605 yet?
