the problem i am having is when i reboot the pc i click boot unetbootin

once i do that it takes me to a screen that says something gb and i click on that and it sounds as if my disc drive is trying to kick in but it just makes a horrible sound then it gives me some error 15 message

I also had trouble with the 602 sbfboot, even though the froyo version worked perfectly in the past.
My boot problem was with boot.ini getting deleted, and also another error that I don't recall.
Eventually I found the iso file in the zip archive and burned a cd.
Sorry if your burner isn't working; just thought I'd share my experience.

PS I was trying to use sbfboot from XP.

grossdm

so what did u do to fix the boot init problem

Well, I did just boot from the cd I burned with the iso file.

As far as the boot.ini file, I was able to catch one that SBFboot had modified with its boot entry. When the boot.ini file was somehow deleted, I tried to replace it, but I never got it straightened out. Hence the cd burn.

Here's the boot.ini that I was able to catch - it has the SBFboot entry.

Hey cobracon i saw you posted a while back a screen shot of the sbf and how it gave you two screens of nothing you could use. Well the same thing happened to me after using a different pc and burning it on a disk (instead of a flash drive ) i got it too work. The flash drive never worked for me i really dont know why not

i was able to get linux system on memory stick and boot into it with abuuntu but i do not know the proceedure from there i know you go into com prompt just dont know the rest

i was really hoping reformatting would fix the sbf boot problem for me

i am wondering do you need a certain build or net framework for sbf boot to work

No once its at that part your talking seconds interval when its done...should sit there for longer than a minute..for me atleast but I would assume its the same...what about permissions administrative? Hey cobra... I've seen this problem before... When I was trying a special disk for 1kds...
Which sbf discs have you tried... Just the 602? Have ya tried maybe the 596... Or even 340?

Have you tried WugFreshs' sbf? No disc, but is based on 1kds' disc. It has been the easiest most reliable method for me. I am looking for a link...kind of hard where I am right now though.

Edit: found it

the framework on your computer doesn't matter if your using the linux disc... as it side steps the whole os.... but here's a question... how much memory does the computer have?

nemos is right... i'm not refering to harddisk space... how much... ram... does the computer have... because with the disk.. that's where it loads everything up to fix your phone... it doesn't touch the hard drive

Should be... I think... But I'd say with almost certainty that is your problem.
i'm not quite sure why but I know from 1KDS that the 340 sbf usually works with lower ram (I think) but the GB sbf don't

You could still do that... As long as the PC you want to use it one had enough ram to handle it... Might ask 1KDS what a good base value to go by would be... Or wug...

Well where did things end up? Did everybody decide that cobra didn't have enough ram for the ramdisk to run properly?
It seems plausible, but I certainly don't know how much ram is needed.
You'd think that a linux based system wouldn't require all that much, but maybe the script just tells it to create a large ramdisk.
Just an idea - could someone boot the sbf and check the size that is created?

Here's an anecdote with a different problem: once I was trying sbfboot, and I couldn't figure out the errors. It turned out that I had the other end (A connector) of the usb cable plugged into a charger under the table, not the computer. Oops.
