I have a ROOTED, (stock ROM) Droid X2, 2.3.3 build 4.5.1A DTN-117-15.
This morning I checked for the long awaited 2.3.4, and there was an UPDATE!
Once downloaded, I installed, and it has failed. retries also fail.

So, I try to UN-ROOT, using Pete's, and it FINALLY said I was unrooted after 2-3 attempts.
I try the OTA update again, and it fails.
So I try Petes root to 2.3.4, and this is what I get: ANY HELP PLEASE ???????????

o Motorola Cliq and Cliq 2
o Motorola DROID DROID Pro
o Motorola DROID, DROID 2 Global, and DROID 3
o Motorola DROID X and DROID X2

You will need the following:
o Motorola's End User drivers for your version of Windows
o aUSB cable connected between your computer and phone
o ADB.EXE and other support files that were packaged with this program

SEARCHING FOR THE PHONE (connect it now ifyou haven't yet)... found!
Running exploit step 1 of 3 (setting upsymlink)... done!
Rebooting your phone... done!
Running exploit step 2 of 3 (modifyinglocal.prop)... done!
Rebooting your phone... done!
Runningexploit step 3 of 3 (adding su, busybox, and superuser.apk)... FAIL!

ERROR: adb could not begranted root access via local.prop method

Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version
of Gingerbread -- hopefullyyou don't have a version where this exploit
was fixed.

If you froze or uninstalled any system apps... That's what's causing it... You can either root again and unfreeze those apps or back up everything then sbf... Then take the update then reroot... And reinstall everything

We have nothing to fear but running out of beer

Easiest way to get to 2.3.4 if the update is failing would be to just sbf straight to it.
