I'm running my Droid X2 rooted (stock ROM) 2.3.3 build: 4.5.1a-dtn-117-15.
When Verizon finally decides to roll out the 2.3.4 update, will I have to un-root,
do the update, and then re-root?

Thanks!

I flashed the 2.3.4 sbf and it will kill your root. You can re-root with petes one click root. Works perfectly.

Not 100% on whether you need to unroot, just can't have apps frozen/removed before installing. Has to basically be a stock system.

I flashed right over rooted 2.3.3 and everything went fine. Just had to reroot after 2.3.4 sbf.

Right, you'd be able to sbf 2.3.4 right over anything. If you wanted to do the ota update, you would have had to have all of your apps stock. I also went to 2.3.4 last night, and that Pete's one-click is amazing.
