Awesome! Now we just need a dev to come up with a launcher or a rom that looks like this and with minimal bugs.

one thing im trying to understand, they tout not having any physical hard keys and a bigger screen...however if you put the buttons on the screen wouldnt that be taking away from the bigger screen?? so is it really an advantage? (other than not having to worry about physical keys breaking)

Well look at the x for instance. If you were to remove the hard keys extend the screen and put the soft on screen keys there you would get the benefit of larger screen area in apps when the soft keys aren't displayed with essentially the same size device

So with my limited knowledge in updates from Moto.... will this actually be available for the X? Probably an OTA I'm guessing????

Chances are it'll never be officially available for the x via OTA, but we may see a developer port it to the x

Doesn't seem like much of an update despite all of the hype. I absolutely hate soft keys and have been happy with the X's keys since you can rest your thumb on them without activating them.

Also that background in the ICS shots is terrible, it's such a generic look and it clashes with the light blueUI elements.

My thoughts on the next gen phones and ICS:
I hope typing is quicker on ICS because of the various changes to screens and such.
Better work apps. They should port and mod the good parts of libreoffice. Documents to go is nice too, build it in.
Built in option for google music. Right now if I plug in headphones while playing google music the stock player kicks in and they fight and get all messed up.
Notification toggles should be built in.
Hiding apps should be built in.
Built in file manager. Been using the MIUI one and it's nice.
Better camera quality. More megapixels does not make a better camera. Also a tripod screw receiver would be nice but is definitely not gonna happen on any non stupid gimmick phones.
Better battery life. I'm totally okay with a fatter heavier phone. On the x they should have used the extra thickness added by the camera to add a thicker battery and then made the back rounded or something. No one would care about the added size if the battery life was 50 hours.
Better web browsing. I've tried them all and they all have problems. One problem is accidentally clicking links on a webpage when you are moving the page or whatever. Also a soft back button is unneeded when a back button on the phone. Also some webpages can't be zoomed out to display correctly. A major one being google documents (a friggin google service!) and another being 1up.com's ad splash page which has a continue button in the top right that you cant scroll over to because of the way all browsers (at least on the DX) handle webpages.
More random configuration options (like changing the notification bar setup for example)
Also more of the innovations from honeycomb. Will apps be able to use the notification bar are as a toolbar?
Unified icon designs.
Better folders.
Folders in app drawer.
Less clutter on SD card. Now that there is so much on phone storage get these settings off my SD card, I'm sick of having a billion folders with random settings in them. Why doesn't every app put there crap in sdcard/data/.blahappfolder/
The market should remember and list the free apps you download even if you don't want to install them (though you should be able to remove them from this list if you choose).

Also I know a lot of these are available as apps or have fixes.

Edit:Somehow this turened into complaints and a wishlist. oh well.

Hopefully they have this coming out for the DX and Bionic. Once I get my service turned back on, I am upgrading to the Bionic and will just use my DX for dinking around on. But ICS looks awesome! :D

ICS definitely looks amazing! I really do hope it makes its way to our droid x. Maybe there would be a slightly modified version, one without soft keys, since there would be no use for pretty much the entire droid family(built in hard keys, and soft keys). Who knows, looks clean though.

Your right bro.! Also me, hoping to it.
It's very smooth to look at the graphics and proper combination of the color of text. I like Glow effect..:excited:
