I am trying to preform WugFreshs' tethering patch. I have Droid X bootstrapper version 1.0.0.5. I hit bootstrap recovery then OK then reboot recovery. It goes to the M screen then goes black and nothing. It appears the screen in still kind of backlit but no text on the screen. Any help?

check your usb debuggin..it needs to be unchecked,
.....if you have droid 2 bootstrap, its better to use as it is updated...if not you can just uncheck the usb debbuging in settings>apps>development> debugging

D2 bootstrap is recommended for Gingerbread, but if you're going to use DX bootstrap, make sure USB debugging is unchecked.

Another question. I am trying to download it onto my wife's phone so I can do the same thing. I have tried downloading it from the market and from the website to the phone. Both ways it just sits on downloading and does nothing.

Did yah try rebooting the phone? And then trying again?

If that doesnt work, you can try clearing data settings>manage apps>all tab up top>market>clear data

Rebooted, cleared data, battery pull all done. I tried to update facebook and that won't work either. Something wrong with the market?

Hmm..just root or been rooted? As far as is things still syncing? I know sometimes it can be a pain.

Rooted last night. Not sure on syncing. I just completed installing the patch on my phone and it worked great but I just can't get Bootstrapper to download on her phone. I have tried the X and 2 versions. Both just hang up. Seems like the market will not update anything. Have tried updating stuff on mine and it works. Both the X version and the 2 are sitting in the bottom of my apps in the market under not installed.

and those are the only two out of all apps? did you just buy them and confirmed payment etc? try clearing cache also? Im not sure if that really will affect the downloading or not..

Facebook went down there as well as google books and youtube. Ya just purchased. I'll try clearing cache. Would battery level affect it?

i dont' think so, its more like a connection issue....possibly try force stopping it? then re-opining and stopping and starting downloads.

How do you uninstall the updates?

If you go into manage applications and select the all tab, scroll to the market you should be able to uninstall updates through there

It shows purchased, click purchased, then OK. It goes to download(you get the download icon in the notification bar) then it disappears after a few seconds(2-3) then nothing. That is after uninstalling updates.

Can i boot into clockwork without bootstrapper? With a combination of key presses. Hold power and home then hit search or something like that?

Don't think he understands how to uninstall market updates. Go in your settings then press applications then press manage applications then press the all tab then scroll down to the market app and press it and you'll see an option on there to uninstall updates and press uninstall updates.

I believe I do, I did it and it reverted back to the old market. Correct? Tried to download/install from there and no luck.

When I uninstall market updates it says the app is purchased and when I go to download it, the app will try, authorize it, start looking like its going to download, get the download bar but no percentages then after a few moments it will say download unsuccessful.

well well....... Easy fix. Refunded the purchase and repurchased. Started download no problem and installed. Did all this after uninstalling market updates and force closing.(whether that mattered or not)
