Look for an overclock app (Android Overclock or Quickclock Advanced)
Root Explorer (or similar root file manager)
Titanium Backup
ROM Manager
Absolute System is a good one, but not necessary
D2 Bootstrap Recovery

These are a few starter apps. I usually just do a search, keyword "root" and read the reviews.

I would definitely go pro with the tb app. That and rom manager are priceless and you will get your your money out of them. Quickclock advanced is probly the easiest overclock app for a noob, heck I still use it. You might also look into getting drocap2 (screenshot for free) and adfree

and to use tibu and rom manager... you'll need to download the free apps too...
as the paid ones are just keys to unlock the free app

team black hat...
theses guys are responsible for helping to get us leaks of the builds before they are released...
and they also get ahold of the sbf files that save us from truly bricking our phone... and have brought us so much :)
it's well worth...

it's great for overclocking and undervolting your processor... it will test it to see where it's stable...
so you can see how much you can undervolt and overclock with before your phone freezes...

because with electronics... every processor is different... yours is going to run different then mine... so this app will see what your will run at

instead of taking updates that way... we get leaks before they are put out.. and we can upgrade and root that way...

or instead you can just put on a custom rom and not even worry about updates like some of us here : D

Use the Droid 2 bootsttapper that you have, once installed use the rom manager, actually though once its installed its got a built in clockwork when you hold down power button and reboot....but yes once its installed, flash clockwork through rom manager

Edit, once your On miui, open rom manager and flash recovery, make sure you flash 2nd init though

DirtyDroid

yeah if you make a nandroid right now in your current state ( which is stock but rooted) then you will easily be able to just wipe data/cache in recovery and then restore your backup.

nope nandroid is a image backup basically of what your system looks like now...if you are flashign roms and something goes wrong, as long as your on the saem build etc. you can restore that back up to basicallly what your phone looks like now..one of the very first things youll always want to do ( I try to always remember)....boot into recovery, scroll down to backup and restore, select it with the camera button.,then click on backup. and let it do its thing.

Edit, I went back to see which ones you downloaded for recovery, you can use whichever you want, the droid2 bootstrapp, or rom manager(if rom manager, make sure to flash droid x when you flash clockworkmod recovery) then boot into recovery.....you can back up all your apps etc. eith TiBackup
