Currently running darkslide v4.2 on my x, I would like to run the newest liberty and noticed I have to be on .596 or .602. I just wanted to make sure before I do it, I should just have to sbf to .602 and then install the liberty rom. I would definitely like some input on this from the community because without you guys I wouldn't have been able to get my X rooted in the first place.

Well the newest liberty is v.9 which is on 596
So if you sbf to that and then root with the Droid 3 root method and you'll be perfect

You can be on 596 or 602... The only real difference you'll see is .12p radio on 596 and .13p radio on 602...

if you do the sbf... ya... but that's really simple...
and the bad thing about doing the aio or the 2 part... is it's hit and miss... some people it runs just fine... others... it breaks stock recovery...

Like BHUBER said use the droid3 root which is here http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/gingerbread-development-hacking/35634-gb-602-root-start-here-links-all.html

So new info, I have the ability to take teh 605 OTA update, still on my darkslide because I've been lazy. if I take the OTA will I be able to use the root method described in this post and still be able to flash to the liberty ROm. I have no idea what the 605 update adds, I've looked a bit but not found anything
