Does anyone have any experience with a portable battery charger for android phones? I'm looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-ChargeBlock-Portable-BlackBerry-CBBB-10/dp/B003ZSHIY0/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1JKQVIF368VUP&colid=BFDCP64T91NQ

I fell in love with Golflogix golf app and even with 6X battery, I use about 90%. I think it would be nice to have something like this.

seems like it'd just be an extra battery hanging off the end of your phone? Is that the idea?
If so I would just go ahead and get am extra battery, extended if you'd want extra long life

Motorola makes something similar and I bought it new for $11 online. You will also need a mini usb micro usb adapter.

I have an extra battery but if I'm on the golf course, I don't want to stop the app and replace the battery.

Here is the one I posted about now that I have it to check the model number. It's good for 2 off recharges and kept my phone going at Disneyland until 1am starting around dinner time when my battery first hit 30%. Just don't forget the adapter. Since the adapter is a short cord you can keep it in your pocket with the charger connected because you can hold it against the back of your phone.

This is what I ended up buying.

Amazon.com: Duracell - Powerhouse Charger, Universal Cable w/USB & Mini-USB: Office Products (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004E2MK3A)

Hopefully it will satisfy my need.

Please let me know how that charger works out for you. I also use GolfLogix and a 3500 mAh extended battery. When I turn down my display brightness and lower screen timeout to 30 sec, I'm able to get through an entire round with about 15% battery life to spare. But at times the screen is hard to see and it becomes a nusance having to constantly activate the screen.

Thanx!

I used it today for the first time. I love it. I have a retractable usb cable that I use and when the round was over, my battery was at 99%. I didn't change the brightness, because in the sun it's not easy to see the screen. Based upon my initial use, I love it.

The cable that comes with the charger is only for charging the charger, not the phone. I purchased a retractable usb cable. You can use the one that came with your DX.

I also use this phone holder. It works amazingly, holding the phone in the cup holder. I have used it twice and highly recommend it.

Between the two, I have the ultimate golf setup.
