if you are on a stock rooted build be it either froyo (android version 2.2.1) or gingerbread (android version 2.3.3) you use bootstrap recovery to get you into clockwork recovery which is a custom recovery. this is all done from your phone

this is droid 2 bootstrap... it works best on gingerbread edit...... dumb me your a droid x2 disregard the droid 2 bootstrap

this is how to use droid x bootstrap but they are one in the same (droid 2 bootstrap)

if you are on a 2nd init rom taht has already been flashed you either use rom manager, power down menu to reboot recovery or terminal emulator.

Eclipse is used for the most part for debugging, building apps, or themes.

Now come back and ask any other questions you may have..... We are here to help ya!

I wanted to put a theme on here. I have a Droid X2, used Gingerbreak to root it. Sorry I am new to this whole process. I just rooted my phone 2 days ago and I am feeling pretty dumb at this point...

No need to apologize or feel dumb haha... This isn't a test nor something you should just know like it was given to you from the heavens haha. ok now youll need to download a bootstrap program

and you can follow the instructions from here

Droid X2 System Recovery + Instruction - xda-developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169677

o)nce that is downloaded you will bootstrap into recovery and then wipe cache and then install from sd card navigate to whereever you stored your theme and then apply it.. reboot

One more question (I know I am blonde, but I'm feeling it worse than ever right now), when you say reboot, just pull the battery or the power button and volume up/down keys?

For the posted instructions you refer to...

In clockwork, the first item in the primary menu is reboot.
