Hello. i had rooted my droid X using Z4root successfully, and was enjoying all the pros of rooting! Then I updated to Android Version 4.3.3 and System Version 4.5.596. I really need to know how to root my phone. Gingerbreak doesn't work, it just goes on and on for hours, and Z4root starts up and after ten minutes freezes my phone. I'm not very tech savy and need a program that will root my phone! I have a PC i can use to root, a Mac i can use to root, and i can also root on my phone if you give me a program that will work! Any suggested ways i can root my phone. I am also new to this whole Android OS so i have no idea what froyo or gingerbread is.

You have to sbf back to 2.2.3 (froyo). Gingerbread (2.3) isn't currently rootable, but there is a prerooted version available to flash

Loving me some Miui

Then you'll need to reroot your phone install droid2 bootstrap so you can use it on gingerbread

Then install two part ginger from here
