I'm currently on justice and my battery life kinda sucks. I love the rom so I was wondering if anyone knows of a rom that I can flash and restore from my justice back up when I need good battery life?

None of the CM7 based roms have very good life. From my experience, MIUI has the best of them. If you want good battery life, you'll need to install Liberty 0.9, Apex, or some other GB based rom.

I am running Liberty 2.01 so I can stay on a rooted froyo tom until they get more of the kinks worked out of the CM7 based toms. So far performance and battery life have been good... Darkslide 4.2 is another good one.

If you want to stay with CM7 backup then it has to be froyo and I suggest gummyjar
Just went 24 hours off heavy use for 14 hours.

SSX is the best out of the cm7 based roms, gummyjar, and stock rooted 596 GB. Edit zombiestomped was awesome too, I wish he would've made a 596 version

Of all the roms I've been on, zombiestomped has the best battery and I find it to be the most stable. Best blurry rom for gb. Got random reboots using liberty. Especially when using Google music.

I agree with this opinion.. I believe SSX had the best battery life compared to other CM7 roms.. MIUI is a close match, but so far SSX was better.. I'm going to give MIUI another week to see if it can beat my performance and battery that I had on SSX..

I have tried to flash Justice and SSX, and had a to immediately go back to CM7. I flashed MIUI Sunday evening. This is after 2 battery drains and working on the third. http://tapatalk.com/mu/4a51162b-81cd-7022.jpg

I have been using Liberty 2.0.1. And it all depends on your ongoing applications and notifications...

Justice is really an awesome ROM and I have been loving it but It's most definitely not the best for battery life...

From what I have heard I know that the majority of CM7 roms have very slim battery life. I have been using Liberty 2.0.1, and I notice a significance in battery life. Hope you find the ROM you like...

I've been on froyo, gb, rooted froyo, rooted gb, liberty7,8, and justice, ssx, cm7 ( around 7 different nightlies from 1 to 43 ) miui (about 10 days) and after a week on any of them there seems to be very little difference in battery life. Just my observation with my dx. I work a rotating shift and charge my phone everytime I go to bed and it is always in the 30% to 40% range when I plug it in. Your mileage may vary.

That's insane. I don't think my battery lasts 21 hours even if it's sleeping the whole time on any rom. I average 13 hours but then again there are days when I drain this thing in 4 lol

Another + for Zombie, It's an awesome blurry rom. Darkslide X was pretty good too, I liked the look of it better, especially with Wulf's River themes. I'd have to agree, once you get the stuff you don't use frozen or renamed, Zombie is awesome! The only problem with 596 based roms is once you've been on a CM7 based rom, or 2nd init rom you miss all the customizations that are easily available. I know I do. If I had that kind of customization on Zombie or DSX, I'd probably never look at another rom. (I probably would, I'm a sucker for pain).

Zombiestomped just became the best rom i've ever used. I used it initially when it was first released but after being on the source based roms, I really appreciate the battery life. I just came off 37 hours of battery. That included 2 nights of 7 hour sleep sleep mode sessions. But aside from the battery, it is soooooo smooth. No problems whatsoever

Are you back on Zombiestomped? If so I was wondering if you have used any themes other than the ones in the customizer. Such as the rivers from Wulf for Darkslide X, or any of the themes for stock 596 deodexed roms.

I'm thinking about going back to a 596 based rom myself, but I really would miss the features in the CM7 roms. I went to liquid 2.4 the other day and I've been on it for about 3-4 days now..

I initially got the Droid X for its much better battery life than my first droid phone, the Droid Incredible.
I have gone Froyo > rooted Froyo > CyanogenMod 7 > Liquid 2.4.
I love the speed of the last two, but the battery life has gotten worse that my old HTC!
This thread has had good advice, and I think I will be trying SSX and maybe Zombiestomped.

I haven't tried any 3rd party themes on zombiestomped so I can't help you there. As for the lack of the extra features, I do miss the notification power Widgets but widgetsoid has filled the gap there. The power widget is the main reason I used the source based roms.

I haven't tried it myself, I'm still using 2nd init rom's, but DroidModderX really loved the shuji rom specifically for battery life. It is however based of the gingerbread kernel so i'm not sure thats the answer the OP was looking for...

I have flashed back to CM 7 from Liquid. My battery life on Liquid was the worst of any smart phone I have ever had.
On CM 7, running Quickclock Advanced on Battery saver, and with Juice Defender, I have plotted about 4% a hour batter drain with light use. I only turn on sync, data transfer, and wi fi when needed.

.596 Kernal ROMs have the best battery life hands down. Only sad thing is the 2nd init ROMs are way cooler =/
