As much as I dislike the Yankees, being a Red Sox fan and all, I've always respected the way that Jeter has carried himself both on and off the field. No nonsense, no drama, just a true professional that loves the game of baseball. And what better way to get him into the record books than the performance today. Absolutely amazing! Hats off to him..

I've been a Yankee's fan since I was a kid in the '70's: Former Yankee's pitcher, the late, great Jim "Catfish" Hunter was a family friend, going back to my Dad's childhood in Hertford, NC. Following in the steps of other great Yankee's players like Mickey Mantle, Joe Dimagio, and Lou Gehrig, Derek Jeter's a class act...and a HUGE rarity among "professional" players (of any sport) these days. Congratulations to him for all his achievements.

Correction 5 for 5 with the game winning rbi. Major class act, great for baseball and my Yankees. Only yankees ever...amazing..

Apex 2.0 RC2, at my speed, blurless is amazing, very blacked out with super green accent.

Yes you are right, i stand corrected. I also want to say to all the people out where that were saying he was washed up "you are wrong". He could at the end of his career with maybe 3500 hits or more, & that's not bad.

A long time Yankee fan myself - since I "knew" & understood the sport as a youngster in the 70's. It was fun attending college in Boston in the mid-80's & going to a Yankees-Sox game. It will be interesting to see how he is welcomed/treated next time they're in Fenway (8/5-8/7) :p

This is a great milestone and will set him apart as a unique & great NY Yankee - one of a kind, no doubt. Randy Levine (Yankees President, I think?) said "Babe Ruth, DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig & Yogi NEVER had that many hits. This may classify him as the best Yankee ever". Talk about a moment in history. Johnny Damon was the 1st one out of the Rays dugout to begin his teams' applauding Derek. Jeter is respected throughout the league because he respects the game and his opponents.

Derek Jeter is First Class all the way in how he represents the Yankees organization, himself on & off the field (no steroid trials or criminal activity) and the City of New York. We'll see if Bloomberg does something to acknowledge this truly remarkable accomplishment. Sure would like to see them make it into & through October. What a way for the team to celebrate this year.

How about cc sabathia and robbie cano, yankees showing off everywhere. Gotta love it.

Coming from my Super DX, running Apex 2.0 RC2. using blackout-green....glow everywhere.

Robbie Cano could someday get to, or pass Jeter with hits if he stay's healthy. What a sweet swing. I understand he put on quite a show at the homerun derby. As for Sabathia he is one of the best.
