Can I just straight up flash this? or do i need to go back to stock and get the OTA then flash it?You need to sbf to stock Froyo to flash the rooted gb, then flash apex 2.0..This is the most simple way: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html
you will need the two part gb install from here: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/gingerbread-general-discussion/27636-official-dx-gingerbread-2-3-3-4-5-596-release-thread-something-everyone.html

You want the patched update.zip parts 1 and 2 since you're coming from froyo...

Yup, you can flash the deodexed over the two part install, after you get it going, but you're flashing apex, so you don't really need to.. just to avoid any potential problems, check md5 sums to be sure the files are good downloads.. also make sure you burn the 1kds ISO as a bootable image using software such as imgburn linked in 1kds' OP.. check md5 of the ISO also.
Download over wifi, or on the computer and transfer to sdcard, don't dl over 3g..

gotcha, thanks. Im muuuuch more comfortable on linux than windows/sbf and my droid.

I noticed it said DONT use droidxbootstrap....use the droid2bootstrap. Why is this? ive heard the exact opposite before and i currently have the droidx one.

also, for backup of some apps saves and stuff, can i grab and replace, or have to use titanium

But when u restore do not restore system data. Just backup app and data and when u restore, app and data

thanks guys, prob going to try soon. Im very...very worried about losing data on one or two free apps that ive been working on forever. Has anyone actually done this to make sure titanium ALWAYS works getting the data from old apps? Can I grab the data myself as a 2nd backup?

whats in the paid version not in the free version? Ive been testing the free titanium, and it seems to work for the apps ive tried, is there a limit or something on free?

Batch restoring and batch backups, and u can freeze apps and bloat.. without the paid version u would have to restore your apps one by one which would suck if u have alot of apps. Both are worth the price for the pro key

thank ya, its worth it, i bought it.

so finally, im about to do this thing. last questions, the instructions u gave me about said make sure usb debugging IS NOT checked...but the titanium backup says u have to have it checked....

k, so
1. do the linux boot back to original froyo, reboot to froyo, turn off then to clockwork again
2. run Blur_Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US-Part1 and part 2, then reboot, and im on GB?
3. reboot to clockwork again and run apex and all done

Are u using DX bootstrap or D2. If your using the DX one and as long as your on froyo 2.2 u can leave USB debugging on, but on GB the Dx one want work on GB unless u turn debugging off. That's why people just use the D2 version on GB and cause its more up to date than the DX one

And yes if u want to be sure of a clean install, SBF, reroot, download the two part prerooted GB files, wipe, flash. Then once on GB make a backup of Stock cause you'll probably need it, then u can go and install apex or whatever GB 596 rom u want

i just went through the various steps to go back to froyo, then to gb, then flashed apex...now upon the first reboot after installing apex, it did the google screen, now frozen on the apex animation over and over....any ideas? did a battery pull, did the same thing again. letting it try to load for a lil i gues
