I'm running it now and it's pretty nice so far. I had the problem where the Settings app wasn't installed, so I had to use the "If all else fails" option on his page. I tried the first option to flash through CWR and that didn't work for me. Outside of that, it's a pretty sweet ROM. Not sure if I like the red, but it's definitely different.

No point in trying his ROMs when apparently he's basing them on other ones, just editing them to his liking and claiming them as his own. He did this with Rubix and looks like he's doing the same thing again with Crespy, his new ROM, which he pretty much got mostly out of Apex.

Twitter post from bigxie (dev of Apex) calling out Drew Garen (http://twitter.com/#%21/bigxie/status/78533059204485120)

Oh look Drew didn't even bother removing an Apex script from "his own" ROM (http://twitter.com/#%21/bigxie/status/78549071203287040)

If you want to try out Drew's ROMs, I suggest you try out the originals first, as in the ROMs by other developers where it came from.

There is always two sides to a story. The things you point out are most definitely one of them.

Drew Garen has his side of the Crespy rom on his front page.

I personally don't know the whole story, but he is pretty up front about it if you follow him.

Just think people should know both sides before judging.

OK I understand that one , but at the bottom of everyone of his roms he list the names of everyone for helping and that's nothing new.

I don't know the whole past story, but he seems to give props to those who deserve it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Then lets put the blame on that person and not put Drew on blast. Also I could be wrong but before he pulled that rom at the bottom of the page he did give Fab proper credit along with Jrummy and a few others. He apparently has a lot of haters and as we know most ppl look at the screen shots and don't read.
I'm in no way taking sides nor a fanboy, **** I go from rom to rom and back. Just putting in my 2

I'm having trouble getting the settings to load up. I flashed the settings patch, and I tried the factory reset. Still I have no settings. Anyone run into this issue?

Did you follow his instructions on his site? No wipe our factory reset is needed before install, it will only cause problems... Just making sure you read that.

KNOWN ISSUES:

- Settings may be missing after install on some Devices. A factory reset usually will fix this, but you will lose all data. IT IS SUGGESTED TO TRY THE ROM SYSTEM SETTINGS INSTALL FIRST.

Check.

REINSTALL ROM SYSTEM SETTINGS:
Rom System Settings (Install Through Clockwork) (http://drewgaren.com/settings2.zip)

Check

I'm having problems with his bootanimations, per his instructions of flashing through clockworks. When I do it nothing happens and I've tried most of them, also when I try a manual install I have no animation. I have check permissions and tried in both data/local and system/media without results. Any input would be grateful, thanks.

I have used his Broodcomb roms (previously v3 and currently v4) and have tried various other DX roms like Liberty and enjoyed them all. I'm no fan boy but I'd say this much, it is safer not to jump on the band wagon of throwing mud at the guy for what seems to be an unintentional error.
