View Full Version : Music on Internal Memory

Hey
So I've started to run out of room on my SD card so I moved a few gigs of my music from the SD card to the internal memory at /data/Music. The problem is that the default Music player doesn't look in the internal memory to index music. I'd rather not have to use a different Music player, since its integrated and has a widget, but any recommendations that index music, allow me to browse by artist, and have a widget would be appreciated. I've heard some stuff about making a symlink (but the SD card is formatted in FAT32 which from looking around I guess is a problem). Any help is appreciated, thanks.
(didn't know if this thread should go here or in your help section)

Don't feel like spending an extra 50-60 bucks for a decent one when theres a ton of unused storage space on the phone =p

I guess it wouldnt take that lobg to just download a few music apps from the market and see if they give you what you need. Try Winamp or Tunewiki 2.2 (not the new 3.0 update, its crap)

Tried both but they had the same problem as the default music player where it only found the music that I had on my SD card

App space....not usually user accessible. And most apps won't look there for files/data

So theres no way to force the music service or whatever android uses to index music to look there?

Are you rooted? if so, you can try making a symbolic link on the sd card.

You likely already have done this...but just in case, have you moved everything else that is movable to your phone? Some apps automatically load on the SD card. Just one last thought.
