Hey, I've been looking everywhere and I can't find a valid copy of a stock signed 595 anywhere. Anyone know where to find this?

Here's the thread at MDW:

New Leak and Official upgrade Path to Gingerbread (http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-x-discussion/7333-new-leak-official-upgrade-path-gingerbread.html#post74655)

If you're thinking that this will allow OTA, the latest info from P3 is that folks need to be on stock Froyo to get it, and it can't be rooted by current methods..

Yeah this is the one I downloaded (I'm completely stock) and I downloaded the bottom one that says full stock version -- no root and it says that it's not signed... :-\

I also read something about .596 having an advanced boot loader. Suppose that just means harder to root?

Correct, it's not signed. There is no publicly released signed 595 zip. You can only install 595 (stock, odex, deodex) if you're rooted.

I read that if you use the stock, then you can also get the OTA, but the md5sum of the stock doesn't match. Should this be a concern, or is there a download somewhere that has a good md5sum? Thanks!

And yes if the md5 sum doesn't match, you have a bad download...

An advanced bootloader will mean no way to SBF back to Froyo...
