Since I love these insightful threads, name the sports you've played and for how long. If you didn't play a sport, name your favorite. If you have any neat injury stories, share as well! Everyone digs a good scar.

I've played baseball for most of my life, I had my hand in football for about 4 years, soccer about 6 years, and basketball a couple seasons...with basketball being my absolute worst sport.

In all those seasons I've only had to have shoulder surgery and have fully recovered, that was about 6 years ago. Let's here it.

soccer for 12, baseball for 10, basketball for 4, track for 5. i sucked at basketball lol but now thats what i seem to play the most

i dislocated my shoulder in soccer (weird, right?) but nothing serious

Soccer is actually very physical, my brother (a bigger guy) would just plow over anyone in his way...needless to say he didn't last long. I am terrible at basketball but I do enjoy playing it only if the other players don't take it too seriously. Nothing ruins a fun game of hoops like someone who is actually coordinated.

Baseball for 13 years wrestling for 8 football for 16 years and 1 year of arena football and 2 dislocated knees and sholders and multiple tears haha so without going to make millions of dollars no longer playing football haha

I grew up playing fast pitch softball - was recruited by OklaUniv and college in New Mexico to play at the college level but already had scholarships in other interests...also played basketball for many years and volleyball for 4, soccer & tennis was only a couple...in volleyball, I had torn all of the ligaments in my right ankle - missed the whole season waiting for it to heal...

I love most all sports - altho, I don't follow the NBA much...football is probably my fave to watch especially college then NFL...I also like arena football - we have a local team that is fun to watch.

Same here, college football is huge in NE. I just got into NFL fully..my team has always been Green Bay so I was glad when they won the year I started paying attention. I now have arena football to look forward to as well.

hmm lets see... in rough order with a bunch of overlap...ishin ru karate, tennis, soccer, crew, ultimate (frisbee)... skateboarding all the while, recently got back into it a little but I'm old now so it hurts a lot more

fall of my senior year one day still stands out... crew regatta early am, SAT's right after, then big varsity soccer game in afternoon... had to get those extra activities in order for the college applications...

Judo is more of a defensive art. It focuses on using your opponents force against them. It was derived int he 1800's from jujitsu because too many people were getting killed and crippled in jujitsu contests. Judo removed the striking, kicking, and leg locks but left the throws, chokes, and arm bars. Since most defensive fights end up on the ground anyone with Judo or Jujitsu training would have an advantage.

I gravitated to Judo because I had a wresting background. There is a lot of grappling in Judo.

I started late in life (at age 30). I will be 54 this month - so 24 years. Ironically I looked for a Judo club for years and ended up finding out there was one half a mile from my house (pre Internet). I've fought nearly 300 matches, 10 National Masters Championships (Masters is a euphemism for the over 30 group). It's been fun.

Hockey has been the life of my whole family but I also played/did these varsity sports in high school:

Soccer (sweeper because I could still shoulder up )
Wrestling 103-125 weight class in HS. (Wish I was this small still :-) )
Baseball
Golf
