Ok, after extensive searching, the only thread I can find is http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-help/24666-help-downgrading-froyo-gingerbread-leak.html
Heres what I did, upgraded to GB 2.3.3 via update.zip on my sd card, then rooted with gingerroot, purchased Team Black Hat app.
Heres what I want to do, downgrade back to froyo, with root, so I can wifi teather for one, & keep the big "V" out of my X.
I rooted my wifes droid 1 with the cyanogenmod it was pretty straight forward & I followed the instructions to a t, & everything turned out perfect, but I'm not sure how to go about doing what I want.
Any help would be appreciated.

The only proven safe way to downgrade to froyo is to flash the 2.3.340 sbf file. This is the easiest method if you've never flashed it before: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html

That will get you back to stock...and then you'll just need to reroot with z4root: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/13259-z4root-download-links-get-your-root-here.html

Um, ..I am unrooted, and did the unofficial Gingerbread update that I could for unrooted users. Just curious now...is there a way to get back to Froyo w/out rooting? I'm really not up for rooting it. With my luck, I'd brick it :(

Yes, to get back to Froyo, you'll need to SBF.
