Let's see, my 2 favorite apps I'm missing by not having root are:

Bootstrap

and Bootstrap!!

:big smile:...Ok choice 2 would be Quickclock as well. Not for performance, but for the battery saving settings...

Loving Gingerbread, but it just doesn't feel right not having bootstrap to fall back on. I haven't had to sbf by using a computer. I don't know how and I'm scared to try it. Lolz!!!

I'm super happy to see this progress already being made on the gingerbread build.
So far I havnt had any issues or fall backs that make me regret switching. I think the most hassle i have had so far is these darn ads :p. But soon my X friends!!!!

I thought you were from AL, not ESL...

And yes. Overclock apps and bootstrap will need new versions.

Edit: Ahh..you fixed your post (mostly) right before I quoted.

What happens? I don't want to flash GB yet... to slammed with other things to have downtime on the phone.

Yea I haven't figured out how the Market determines which to show or not. Quiclclock Advanced not longer shows up, but Droid Overclock does. Still doesn't work without root, but it is strange that it's there...

I think its when the apps are built like if you build in eclipse or the sdk you have a choice to build your apk off certain android builds and if its an older app it probably doesn't have the 2.3 api or whatever

If you build something ONLY FOR 2.2, then no, it would not recognize 2.3 because its newer, its above 2.2, the app would only know about 2.2, 2.1, 2.0, etc...

The apps they build for 2.2 can't see the future :D

yeah i guess your right lol. Im pumped now i was thinking it would be end of the week before we saw root for this build. But going along with what i read earlier even with root what will it tech do for us running 2.3 , as in what apps can we use that are compatible or like is metamorph able to be used with 2.3 just the normal root aps. Or is it anything that shows up in the market safe to run

Any time you flash a rom (and I don't see why this would be any different) it's advisable fully charged. I believe that battery stats reset when you flash so you'd want to be at max for an accurate benchmark. Also, if get into trouble during the process you don't want to run out of juice before you fix it, the phone won't charge in recovery. I've never had a problem whose solution took long enough to show any battery drain, but .....

In any case the X takes like 10 minutes to charge. OK, an hour and a half from 10% to 100%. Maybe.
