View Full Version : Unable to watch internet videos with droid x

Hello everyone. I'm new to the droid x and currently using the stock browser. I am unable to watch videos from the following website: Learn Jazz Guitar | Jimmy Bruno Guitar Workshop (http://jbguitarworkshop.com/sampleLessons.cfm)

The designer says the site is built with html5. Is there something I can change on the droid x or a different browser that would work. Right now the videos are just black boxes.

Could try one of the Dolphin browsers, best one IMO, haven't tried HTML5 websites yet, so not sure, also, do you have flash player installed?

Thank you for the reply. I just installed Dolphin browser HD, but I am still having the same issue. I'm not sure if Flash player is installed. Is that something I need to view HTML5 content? How do I check to see if it is installed.

You can go to the market and search for flash player and install this way you know you have it!

Edit... I just tried the link and the video didn't work. I'm assuming that it's not supported by mobile or only compatible with the browsers listed under his picture. Did you notice them? Mozilla chrome safari and operated in believe.

Have you tried the latest firefox and opera versions?

Firefox 4.0 beta swears they support html5

Well I couldn't watch anything on that site because webroot said there's suspicious activity on that site and I chose to block it

Just find it a little strange you know what html5 is but have no clue you need flash for video content on websites

Didn't get the site itself to work on Dolphin mini, but at least some of the videos are also posted on YouTube, which works fine on the phone. Here's an example:

Anyone else know why webroot blocked that site

Likely a false positive from webroot. Checked the site with an online virus/malware site scanner, no issues...

Well that's what I figured it was only a yellow caution... I'm just very aprehensive after all the stuff about the Droid dreamer
