The Motorola advertising machine continues to churn out cinematic masterpieces as part of its marketing campaign. And today, the latest Droid X commercial certainly doesn't disappoint. This one focuses on the Droid X's ability to act as a Mobile Hotspot. If you're not pumped about this feature, take a peak at the commercial (which should start airing tonight), and your opinion may change. Remember, the Mobile Hotspot feature will cost you a pretty penny, unless you decide to root.

I like the "unless you decide to root".

That would be nice if wifi tether worked the same, but Ad-hoc mode doesn't allow a lot of devices to connect. My PSP definitely won't and neither will my PS3. I'm hoping for Infrastructure mode, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

If that happen you would have people using 30-40gb a month.....

It's going to happen, just going to take awhile. Infrastructure mode is available on a lot of other Android phones with Wifi Tether. In order to hit 40GB in a month you'd have to average like 17KB/s constantly for 30 days, so, while not out of reach, those that cancel their ISP plan to exclusively use tethering would be stupid to even try.

I just want infrastructure mode so there is better support for devices. My PSP, even though it supports Ad-hoc, will not connect to my Droid X, not sure why, but it just won't.

I think that's the first time ever I've seen phone, or any other electronic device for that matter, run as quickly in a in real life as it did in a commercial...:P
