Asurion, the Technology Protection Company used by Verizon is lowering the monthly premium you pay to insure your phone. But they are also raising the deductible you pay if you file a claim. See the scan below of the letter I received today. The rates shown are for advance devices. Regular phones will have different rates.

I received the same letter yesterday. Hopefully I won't need it so the lower monthly rate works out better.

LOL. I was told by Asurion a few years ago that they allowed one replacement per calender year. If that's the case, I save a whole $9.84 a year on my premium, and they get an extra $10.00 if I make a claim. It cost at least 25 cents for printing and postage on these letters. Who's brilliant idea was that and how long are they going to be employed? :work2:

Dude.... If you ever use them, they will lose roughly $2-300 on you.

You only pay them $72 a year, plus $89 for a deductible... A new device is usually around $500..... I have had them for years, and still havent paid off the total replacement i have had through them. Get over it.

Well if ur getting a new droid then yes its 500 or maybe more but if u want to get the X then they are already down to 150 smackers at this point there's no need for insurance for the X. Cancelling mine today

With an upgrade or adding a new line. The phone itself is upwards of 490 at store cost.

Insurance is for the most part a rip off to the customers but a Hugh success for the people that offer it. Of they can get 10 customers to pay the monthly premium and out of those 10 customers only one makes a claim in the 2 years it takes for an upgrade to kick in its an east way to make money. Not only that but they refurbish phones so they don't eat the cost of a brand new device.
