I chose the Trident Kraken to protect my Droid X & I'm extremely satisfied with it.

Check out Trident's dust test demo:

It does add bulk, but it actually fits my hand better and the raised portion on back at the bottom makes it much easier to hold when two-thumb typing. There are only two problems w/ the Kraken case, and I found solutions to both.
Problem 1) To make the case dustproof, you have to install the optional camera cover film inside the case. That film will cause your flash to reflect into the camera & cause a washed out photo.
-- Solution: Cut two pieces of electrical tape, about 1mm wide, and stick them on top of each other, on the inside of the camera cover film, between the lense & the flash. when you put the phone in the case, that electrical tape forms a gasket that keeps light from the flash out of the camera lens.

Problem 2) The holster made by Trident for the Kraken is an afterthought piece of junk.
-- Solution: Don't buy that holster. The Rocketfish GPS case (RF-GP501) (http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/products/mobile-phones-gps/RF-GP501.html) fits the Droid X with Kraken case like it was made for it! Beltloop on back doesn't rotate; keeps the holster oriented as shown below.
Phone slides in/out relatively easily, too.

It's not real leather, but it's the best fit I've found. Looks professional, protects well, and it's cheap!
Normally $6.99, but currently on sale for $4.99. I think it's only available at Best Buy.

Only one issue: Case secures with magnets, so your Droid X will think it's being docked in the multimedia or car docking station unless you remove the magnets. I plan to cut an "X" where the magnets are (underside of flap & on front of pouch) to remove the magnets, then I'll use Shoe Goo to adhere velcro over the cuts, so it'll look good & work better than the magnets anyway.

Good find, think i might pick one of those up today and try it out, for $5 why not? Tried the dublin lowepro 30 but didn't really like that pouch too much, phone fit pretty sloppy in it and the belt loop was not very secure at all

Any update on how the RocketFish case is holding up?
How's it working with the Kraken?

Picked up the case yesterday, cut out the magnets and put on the velcro last night, going to work on putting a belt clip on today in place of the loop it comes with.
So far I like it, but its a big case for sure.

Just a little bit.
My mods are done, and the case its much better. Velcro installed, belt clip installed......both made huge improvements and cost me nothing.

The website says this case is 12" by 8.5". Is this true? You could fit 4 X's in there.
