Droid X goes swimming - mandog202's posterous (http://mandog202.posterous.com/droid-x-goes-swimming)

Dug up my Aquapac (model 104) submersible case I used with my iPhone to see if the X would fit in it, amazingly it does, just barely. So I just had to take it out and throw it in the pool while recording video. lol

The 104 model apparently isn't available anymore, replaced by the 108, and they also have a larger model 348 that specifically mentions Droids

Aquapac Mini Whanganui Electronics Case (http://www.aquapac.net/usastore/water-electronics-mini-871-0.html) is the closest to the one i have, can't confirm if the X will fit this one.

Aquapac Small Whanganui Electronics Case (http://www.aquapac.net/usastore/water-electronics-small-873-0.html) is the one that mentions droids

I used the Aquapac for my DX last year at Water Country USA in VA, and in/out of the pool/beach in Hilton Head and it performed very well. Can't say I wasn't nervous as my phone was a day old before the trip to Williamsburg, but the case performed very well. Even the pics/video taken while in the case came out great. Only thing I found out, make sure there aren't drops of water on the case when taking pics, otherwise it works great in/out and under water.

Whenever I go fishing on the boat, I just seal it up in a vacuum seal food saver bag. Touch screen still works and can hear on the phone just fine. It's kinda redneck, but who cares? Lol

that's basically all this case is, only it clamps shut instead of vacuum seal, so the mic and speakers still work.

I originally got this case for my iPhone 3GS, passed it on to the iPhone 4, and now it's been handed down to the X, I have some packets of silica gel to put in it to keep it from getting any condensation on the inside. Also have one for my iPad, went on a canoe trip on the Elk River in southern TN last august, took my iPhone and iPad with me. And I just had to be an ass and tweet from the middle of the river, lol. They also make submersible cases for DSLR cameras, which I need to get for my Nikon (can you tell i'm a tech whore?)
