Find the .zip here (http://www.mediafire.com/?q466o9zt9tsedvl)
Here is the same .zip just half speed (http://www.mediafire.com/?e8tnbondon4yroz)
Boot logo (instructions below) (http://www.mediafire.com/?sd28kracejlb4p7)

Xoom Honeycomb (Bee) Boot Logo (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/19972-xoom-honeycomb-bee-logo.html)
[/URL]
The zip was put together by Gorgarath and I, it will look like something like this.

I installed it on Liberty 1.5 and Gorgarath installed it on some form of ApeX (I think 1.4.1)

You may want to copy the original bootanimation.zip from the data/local folder to your SD card so you have a back up

You need a root R/W file manager
Copy the .zip from the downloads folder
Go to Data/local, delete the old bootanimation.zip and paste the new one (rename it bootanimation.zip)

Boot into ClockWork
Scroll down to install zip, select the zip, install it
Reboot
Enjoy!!!
Viola!!!

Something like that? Lol. Glad you got it working. I think I might grab it and swipe the images for a new project.

I like how they capitalized on honeycomb for it.

Nice work guys.

DX- rooted, deodexed, strapped, OC'd, and themed how I like it.

Nah, it looks even better than that cuz it's on my X and not someone else's Xoom. I gotta say, it does look pretty sweet, but I'm going to have to put stock ApeX bootanimation back on simply because I want to show my boss so he can be all wtf with the sound and all.

EDIT: Even better, I'll leave this on, but keep a copy of both on my SD card and show him how awesome it is to be able to customize. :D

No, you just overwrite the file already on your phone. It's located in either /system/media or /data/local. ApeX is /data/local, not sure about Liberty.

Sweetness, thank you, honestly, don't tell Fab, but I don't care for the new boot animation on ApeX lol

Hehe, the sound can be disabled in the toolbox. And apparently on Liberty, there's a bootanimation.zip file in both /system/media and /data/local so I have no idea which to replace when running Liberty. Maybe one day I'll try flashing it just in order to find out.

Use root explorer copy the new boot zip from your download file or download file from your web browser (it will go to one or the other) copy the new zip then paste in data/local then long press it and rename it bootanimation.zip

Reboot and watch your cool new animation. :)

On liberty 1.5!

Haha, I forgot he added the sound, and when it started up I about crapped my pants lol. For some reason, I have just always enjoyed the legacy Android boot animation from ApeX 1.3.1, don't why, just do.

You could always flash 1.3.1 and pull the bootanimation.zip from it and install it on your 1.4.1 now that you know where it is located. :)

I have the urge to make more of these, but this one was easy since TC did all the hard work and pulled all the images. All I had to do was put them all together. Took a couple tries to get it right and play smooth, but when you have everything you need right there, it's pretty easy.

Now I want to go and make some more, possibly some with sound as well. (Guessing that the sound file has to be located in /system/media since that's where the THX sound is at, it's only referenced by name, not location, in the bootanimation.zip.)

I dont know how difficult it is to do things like add sound to a boot ani....but a buzzing sound would really complete it.....like i said tho....i dont know what all that would entail

You can go ahead and love yourself without any help from me... :P

As for adding a sound, adding the THX sound would be the easiest as it is already on the phone if you're running ApeX. Otherwise, it would add a step. You would need to copy said sound file onto your phone in /system/media (I'm assuming as that is where the THX sound is located) and then it's just a single line in the file for the boot animation.

If you have any sounds you'd like me to use, give me a link and I can add it to the bootanimation... Or maybe it would just be easier to have it call bootsound.mp3 and let you supply your own sound file... Thoughts?

I don't know how to make live wallpapers, so I don't know. Perhaps that is something I'll look into at some point in the future.

As for how to get the bee boot logo, I'm at work so I can't access mediafire, but the first link he posts is something that is flashed in clockwork. It might have the bee boot logo in it. Or if you are running Liberty, I know there's a few boot logos available in their toolbox, but I don't know if that is one of them.

I've started a folder on my computer for boot animations for the couple I already have and now that I know how to make them, I'm going to start making some from scratch if I find the time.

Good to know I wasn't the only one. Though I haven't actually looked at the half-speed one, just did the edit and sent it on its way to TC, so I don't know if it still looks as good or better or worse. I'll have to try later after I stop rebooting my phone to laugh at the one I just did. I think I'll post it on another thread since it's not the Xoom one with sound. Normally a boot logo replacement zip file that you flash through clockwork has in the root of the zip file a .bin file that is the static boot logo image.

I'm in the process of re-installing my one laptop, once it's done, I'm going to pretty much dedicate it to working on Android stuff. Both so I'm not stuck on my PC next to my bed all day. My son is missing me a bit right now but I'm almost ready to head downstairs. I figure I'll grab a shower and then hopefully this batch of Windows Updates (including my video driver so I can stand to look at the screen) will be installed.

I know I should have used my nlite'd/driverpacks/unattended disk, but I had problems earlier today at work with it so I didn't bother trying it on my laptop. If it was better supported with an open OS, I'd have gone with that, and it actually would probably work decent with Linux, but I figure I'll pick up an old used ThinkPad off ebay sometime soon. They're great for BSD/Linux.

Just installed this and I love it. I'll probably restart my phone more often now, just because it looks so good. I restarted thinking that Clockwork would come up since it sometimes comes up when I restart my phone, but it didn't. However, the animation still worked without me actually installing it through clockwork. I just simply removed the stock zip and added the new one.

Maybe I'm just mixing up the instructions, I just figured both parts were required.

I will be including a version of this that uses a sound later today, with 2 methods of installing it. The easier way will be via Clockwork, the other will be the same as currently posted in the OP with the addition of having to manually put the sound in /system/media.

I still have to rip the songs to include. Almost finished copying all my files over to the laptop and hoping I remembered everything.

Yup, it's through clockwork.

And currently, I'm not using any of these. I currently have on whatever the last one I finished making was. I do like this one a lot though and will probably come back to it when I'm not making others. I like the boot sounds, so I tend to prefer those, and the half speed one does seem to look a little better when running than the full speed one. YMMV

Use root explorer copy the new boot zip from your download file or download file from your web browser (it will go to one or the other) copy the new zip then paste in data/local then long press it and rename it bootanimation.zip

Reboot and watch your cool new animation. :)

Yes, with the boot animation, you can manually replace the bootanimation.zip with the new one. I started making the clockwork files for ease of use or for those who for whatever reason don't want to buy Root Explorer and find the terminal commands to do it manually too daunting. But mostly for the simplicity when including sound as you need to put files in /data/system and /data/local and it's just easier to boot into clockwork and do it. Takes an extra 30 seconds or so, and you need to reboot to see your new boot animation anyway.

For the boot logos, I don't how to do it any way other than through clockwork.

I believe so, although I have no clue on how to do diddly squat for the iPhone. You can get the images by downloading the .zip onto your computer, opening it and taking the pictures out. I have no clue what to do from there.

I'd like to - if I had an iPhone. I have an iPod Touch and that's what I'm using the boot logo for, but I'm a student and have no money to spare for any kind of smartphone + dataplan (T.T).

Incidentally, does anyone know of a program that takes a batch of images and resizes and renames them for you? I want to repurpose other boot logos, but I don't want to have to spend hours going Ctrl+Alt+I "640" tab tab "960" enter Ctrl+Shift+S "n" enter over and over again.

ImageMagick and some scripting will do the trick. I used to run a subdomain that was a homemade gallery written in Perl, uploaded the pictures to the folder and it would automatically create thumbnails of them for me and update the main page with the additional pictures of my daughter. I think I stopped doing that by the time she was 1 or maybe 2 and never re-uploaded the site when I switched hosts.

Are you sure there are black bars on the files posted in this thread? I had thought I had made it full screen, but I could be wrong as I haven't looked at this particular boot animation in a while. I can fix that if they really are not full screen.

Well I did a reboot and still saw the black bars so I redownloaded the flashable one on the OP with no sound. I just reflashed it and it still has the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
