Are you using Droid X Bootstrap and not Droid 2 Bootstrap? Just need to make sure. When you open up the Bootstrap App, and you click "Bootstrap Recovery," do you get a superuser pop up that asks for permissions?

Next step I would try is opening up z4root, and clicking the re-root option and then re-try bootstrap.

When I clicked on bootstrap recovery.

open the su app and see if it is on the list at all. Are you sure you are rooted? try root checker from the market if you're not sure.

Yeah, the DX is a little different to mod, take a look around but it looks like you have a good idea of what you need to do for the X

smurfin66
02-24-2011, 08:02 PM
yea the reason im doing this is because my d1 is faster than this and theres so much bloatage, kinda scary, since i just got it yesturday. may sound stupid but when i wipe am i just wiping the internal or am i wiping internal and sd?
....and can you point me to a killer rom?

1KDS
02-24-2011, 08:06 PM
you are just wiping the internal, sd card won't be touched. Popular ROMs atm are Liberty, ApeX and rubiX Focused. All in the ROM section here. Check out the links in my sig.

All the ROMs are pretty killer. Currently I'm using ApeX.

ok. killer. ill check them out. now that thats all done, im worried about the "activate phone" screen i had problems with. since i have no vz towers around im roaming, and since you have to get past the automated activation to turn on the auto roaming in settings im a little concerned. because the verizon tech helped me skip the automated activation and got me to the settings but he also had me put in some numbers.

You shouldn't have to re-activate your phone, the only time I have had to do it is when I use maderstock.340. So you should be good to go.

+1, you don't have to reactivate the connection after a data wipe, just sign back into google.

Go with ApeX, its amazing, and your battery will thank you! Make sure you have the current 1.4.1 version. Flashing ROM's is really easy and with bootstrap installed, going back to your stock back up will be easy as pie...
