So we have HD video on our phones but how to get them off and convert them so they are still HD?

If we just drag and drop on to the desktop its not grear quality and the files are huge.

There must be some good editing, audio/video software to create great Videos and DVD.

Thanks for the help.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but a dvd can only go up to 480p. If you want your hd videos played via disc burn them to blueray. As far as file converting, what OS are you using and media player?

i have vista and only stock players.

i know like when i convert the video off of my camcorder they look much better than rhe raw avi format they record in.

i was wondering if it was the same with our DX's

Haha well theirs an ad for AVS Video Converter on this page right now, I've used that and liked it but you would need the full version

Well #1 the video is already as HD as it is going to get.

#2 The crappy HD this phone takes looks even worse blown up on the big screen

#3 DVD's are SD not HD

#4 Dragging them to the desktop should not change their size

#5 AVI is not a "format" it is a container Audio Video Interleave - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Video_Interleave) the video format is inside it.

You could convert it to H.264 or VC-1 as those are the only blue ray standards. Blu-ray Disc - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluray#Media_format)

If you have a Mac you can just drag the videos to iDVD and burn ;)

LOL no i just have a real HD camera and the Droid is "O.K." at it but compared to real HD? Umm no. It takes a real crappy picture too ;)

Droid is the OS... not the hardware. ;) They could put a better camera in if they chose too but then it would not be affordable. :(

I did a quick compare with a "real" camera and cut the cameras down to the same bitrate as the X has here (you can watch it in 720P HD):

There must be some good editing, audio/video software to create great Videos and DVD.

As stated, DVDs are not HD, so to make your videos playable on a DVD player, they will need to be resized.

To create DVDs from the files you have, you can use DVDFlick (free, no editting capabilities), Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio, Apple iMovie, Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro etc etc.
