My friend and I were talking about the new phones out and we said to me, "Yeah as soon as the Thunderbolt comes out I am getting it". He just got his phone a few months before me.

I did not know "early" upgrade plans existed but I guess they are gone now.
Why is Verizon eliminating the option to upgrade early? (http://www.phonedog.com/2011/01/05/why-is-verizon-eliminating-the-option-to-upgrade-early/)

Looks like Verizon is also going to do away with the New Every 2 program, bummer...
Verizon changing its upgrade policy, makes customers wait longer for upgrades (http://www.phonedog.com/2011/01/04/verizon-changing-its-upgrade-policy-makes-customers-wait-longer-for-upgrades/)

Whatever your upgrade cycle was before it will remain at least the life of your contact. Verizon wouldn't risk a class action by taking away scheduled upgrades. Most people can get an early upgrade every year at the moment, even though they advertise the every two year.
