just curious what other DroidX people do for a living? I know several people with different careers that own droids, and none have any interest in doing anything to their phone except changing the wallpaper, and making me look at it!:p

I am an over the road truck driver (tanker yanker). I can't get enough of this Droid stuff, changing, tinkering, modding (thanks to the help of many of you)!

lol. Thanks, y'all. Guess I'm used to the atv/dirtbike forum communities. Most of the people on those sites don't like cops, just because most of the time they're trespassing to go riding, or they're potheads. I normally don't tell people what I do full-time. Most of those guys/girls just think I run my site full-time. That's actually just something I do on my off time.

I am a 4th year student working towards a degree in Biomedical Materials Engineering & also a Master in Business Administration.

Plus I'm tech support for everyone in the world that knows me, frequently getting frantic calls at 4am from people telling me their computers crashed, or companies telling me their networks down. I hate helping over the phone though, so I use TeamViewer and provide support remotely.

I am a technology enthusiast which is why I choose DroidX.

Go Bucks. Correction Officer at a New York State prison.

Sent from my DROIDX Which prison? Visited some people at Sing Sing a few years ago. I thought television exaggerated how a prison looks, but when I went to Sing Sing, the first thing that hits you is the huge tower. Then everything branches off with one huge wall going left and one huge wall going right. Not to mention the 2,000 steps to go down to the visitor's area. Insane. Funny thing was how close the residential community and schools were to the prison, literally hundreds of feet.

I will know when there is a semi- respectful dispatcher anywhere in this country, because that is the main thing drivers look for. It isn't always about how little they get paid any more. It is how badly drivers get treated when they are on there last leg because the coward desk jockeys wont get off there lazy a$$e$ to make a call.
I have seen first hand what dispatchers do on a daily basis with several big companies and have videos that I got with my phone. It is worse then the videos of our gov. officials playing card games on the computers while holding meetings about what the tax payers are going to get them for lunch.
Bad thing is, I am sure that the trucking industry isn't the only place that is victim to a bunch of overpaid pencil pushers. But, given the poor status of our economy, the man in charge doesn't have time to babysit these immature and under educated fools. No offense to the profession.

I have to agree. I've been driving since 1992 and there are few dispatchers that actually understand the importance to taking care of their drivers. I never trusted one of them until my current boss. And that's only because I see him 3-4 times a day so we've developed a trust.

Hey crash, in my opinion, the solution for bad dispatchers is in what you wrote. Not all big companies are bad, but most are when it comes to treating their drivers well. In the big companies, most drivers are just a number, and a lot of those numbers display a don't give a darn attitude, and why should they give a darn, they're treated like crap. I would hang it up before I drove for a company that lied to me, and treated me like crap. Take your experience to a small er company, put in your time, and you might be surprised how many great people are in this industry:-)
