This could be a silly question, and maybe I've read the answer in another thread, but I am so stuck with all this root and rom stuff. I think I have 2 rom running at the same time or something. When i start up my phone, the Rubix animation shows. When i use the phone, 928Droid theme is running. Also, the multitouch keyboard doesn't work and force closes every 3 seconds, even when I'm not using it. I can switch to the swype and the force close message doesnt show up, but I still don't think that should be happening. Settings also does not allow me to edit/add accounts. :/ ANY answers or clarifications would be immensely appreciated. :motdroidvert:

Well if your running Rubix focused the multi touch keyboard is removed and that means theres a conflict with the 928 them which has a themed keyboard in it. Therefore you get the errors.

Also the 938 theme isnt a ROM. Just a them that overlays the ROM. 928 I believe is a Blurr based theme. Therefore if you run a Blurr based ROM on a Blurr free rom then you'll get plenty of errors. My suggestion is you install a Rubix approved them, and if you want the multi touch keyboard then you'll have to download it seperately and either install as apk or install via zip file.

for themes check here:

and

Thank you for clarification. Now, could you give me a course of action? I have Rubiks Focused 1.8.9 and the Black Juice or something Rubix theme (originally for 1.6) and the 928 Droid Black Glass. I prefer the 928 Droid Black Glass, and i want the rubix, both of them, gone for good (for now anyways). How can I achieve this without messing everything up and having a third brain aneurysm? Oh. Here is a link explaining 928DROID Releases Easy Deodox/Odex Method for DROIDX - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog (http://www.droid-life.com/2010/09/28/928droid-releases-easy-deodoxodex-method-for-droidx/) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP BTW and sorry for the late reply. I was so caught up in fixing this phone i forgot to check.

Did you make a backup in recovery before putting all this on the phone?

Eh. Contacts yes, apps, kinda. I'm not too worried about apps, I don't use many. But my contact app is not working now :/ This phone is so messed up lol

I meant a nandroid, which is a total system backup. I'm not sure you should just reload rubiX or anything else over what you have currently, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will stumble upon this thread. Also you can backup your contacts by going into contacts, hitting menu->import/export->export to sd card.

Oh, nope, no nandroid. But i dont even have a contacts app any more :( I just want this nightmare to be over. The problem is, i'm sure there is a very simple answer. I just don't know what it is.

The simple answer may possibly be sbf, but I would wait to see what other people say first. Export your contacts to SD first so you at least have those safe.

alright. What does the sbf flash do?

It flashes the original firmware back onto your phone.

And it's safe and everything? I keep reading into it and a lot of people said they now screwed and bricked. I'm not trying to have that happen. I'm currently stable on rubiX Focused 1.8.9 with the Black Juice 1.8.9 theme. Everything is decent except i have 2 camera icons in my app drawer and no contacts app. I can text my contacts, just not view them or anything.

I would love to understand how to use these roms and themes and stuff, but using my phone is much more important to me right now. So, what ever can be done, i will take.

Abe, you sure he needs the 2.2.1? I know rubiX is based on that but he's not running the leak, I know a nandroid 2.2 works fine when flashed from rubiX 1.8.6 (2.2.1)

I have multiple times and I'm still currently reading it. I'm just confused on what to do. I guess i'll do the SBF thing, but i DO NOT wanna mess up anymore than I am. If there was a video, I would follow that, but i havent found one yet.

It said 30.03. That means I should do the sbf flash, right?

SBF should be last resort option...

Before doing an SBF, Zantar, I would go into settings>accounts>sync contacts...if that's not checked already...if it is, then your contacts are already saved in the google cloud...your purchased and installed apps should be fine too.

then open koush's droid x bootstrap app, you still got that right? open it, click bootstrap recovery, should say, 'success!'

then open ROM manager and install a new ROM from there, it will give you the option of wiping data and cache...do that! install the rubix ROM of your choice..whether it's blurry or focused...

now you should have a smooth running ROM with no conflicting themes...now research compatible themes to the ROM you just installed, if you want to change the look of it...Just remember blurry themes don't go with focused ROMs and vice-versa!

if you can't do any of the above mentioned, then yeah, what abe said, you might have to do a full SBF back to stock...

hope that helps

Problem. Sync Contacts doesn't exist. There is Phone, which Sync is off and it cannot be synced, and back up assistant does nothing...

hit your menu hard key...click settings...click accounts...look under 'manage accounts'....still unable to sync from there?
