I downloaded Zedge and one of its free ring tones. I d/k how to link that specific ring tone to a specific contact. Are the tones only available for all contacts and not individual ones?

if you really want custom ringtones....take your favorite songs and put them on your phone. then download ringdroid, once installed this app will let you customize any part of any song and edit it to make it a ringtone at what ever part of the song you desire.

i get all my ringtones from phonezoo.com. you can create a free account and all it costs you basically is a text message. If you have unlimited text messaging, and now a days who doesn't :P it doesn't cost you a thing. Plus it saves all your selected ringtones that you'be downloaded so if you ever have a problem with your phone and have to get a replacement, and just can't remember what ringtones you had, phonezoo has them all on your free account.

Lightninrod - to add to a specific contact, find your contact and open to their info - hard menu key and press edit. Scroll down to additional info, tap on the arrow on the right and it will display additional info...scroll down again to ringtone (this is towards the bottom) and tap the arrow again...you will see a popup box, select Zedge and it will show you your downloaded ringtones. Select the one you want and press ok.

+1 for Zedge, my first one on my D1 was Mabilo which wasn't all that bad either it just took too long for previews for my taste

Another vote for zedge. Got an absolutely OBNOXIOUS R2D2 ring going with the classic Star Trek Communicator sound for notifications, plus the door beep sound from the next Gen Star Trek show. To put it mildly my phone is GEEKED out to the max! It'd only be MORE geeked out if it had a trekkie t-shirt or something. LOL No I'm not a total geek.. The kids love R2D2 so they trip out everytime my phone rings.
